Nina Munteanu

Nina Munteanu

Nina Munteanu is the Passionate Writer. She has internationally published award-nominated novels, novellas, short stories, articles and essays with works translated into several languages. Her latest book Darwin’s Paradox was nominated for the Aurora Prix, Canada’s top prize in science fiction. Its prequel Angel of Chaos is scheduled for release in early 2010. A collection of her award-nominated short stories by Starfire World Syndicate is forthcoming in summer 2010. Upcoming books in 2010 by Nina with Starfire include her space thriller Splintered Universe, re-release of Collision with Paradise a romantic SF thriller, and her historical fantasy The Last Summoner.

Nina regularly publishes critical essays and reviews in magazines, among them The New York Review of Science Fiction and Strange Horizons. Nina’s acclaimed blog, The Alien Next Door, provides lively discussion on science, pop culture, writing and philosophy. Go visit. She likes a good discussion.

Nina is an ecologist and teaches university courses in science and environmental education. She regularly publishes in scientific journals and speaks at conferences throughout North America and Europe. She will be attending the Life and Mind Institute conference in Zurich April 2010 on Altruism and Compassion in Economics.
